Francis Campion Mulcahy-Morgan was born at Clondalkin, County Dublin on 5 March 1895, he was educated at Partora Royal School, Enniskillen.

He applied for a commission on the outbreak of the war and was gazetted Second Lieutenant with the 7th Royal Irish Rifles on 10 October 1914 and was made a Lieutenant on 30 December.

He was killed in action on 6 September 1916 near Ginchy while leading his men on patrol in the enemy's lines and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial and is entitled to a 1914-15 Star Trio which was claimed in 1922.

His brother Captain E. S. Mulcahy-Morgan also served with the Royal Irish Rifles and was killed in action on 27 October 1914.
