- Additional Info Son of the late Col. J. Lawson Whalley, J.P. (Col. Commandant 3rd and 4th Bns. King's Own Royal Lancaster Regt.) and of Mrs. Whalley (now Lady Ashton, of Ryelands, Lancaster). Enlisted in U.P.S. Brigade in Jan., 1915, and received a Commission in June, 1916.
