Arthur Frederick Jones (known as Fred) was born in Ealing to Christina and Arthur Jones in 1887. In 1910 he married Gertrude Goff and they had two sons, Arthur Frederick Goff Jones born in 1915 and Ralph Henderson Goff Jones born in 1920. Arthur was the proprietor of grocery stores including one at 11 Cambria Road, Loughborough Junction in London.
In 1929, his wife Gertrude died and was buried in the cemetery in Ealing. In 1938, he married Kathleen McClelland in Paddington.
In WW1, he had served with the Royal Horse Artillery and in WW2 he served with the Home Guard.
In 1940, Fred's son Ralph who was serving with the RAF Volunteer Reserve was killed when his Blenheim bomber crashed near Weasenham near King's Lynn in Norfolk on its return from an operation over enemy territory due to poor visibility.
On the 16th April 1941, Fred was injured when his shop at 11 Cambria Road was hit by a bomb and he died on the 27th April 1941 at the Horton Emergency Hospital in Epsom. He is buried in Ealing Cemetery with his wife Gertrude and son Ralph.
