Captain Arthur Beaumont Muir Crawford, 1st Battalion, Cameronians (Scottish Rifles)

Arthur was educated at Wrekin College, Shropshire, the son of Dr Arthur Muir Crawford & Jennifer Lennox Beaumont Crawford of Glasgow, Scotland. The 1st Battalion, Cameronians (Scottish Rifles), saw action in the Burma campaign having been deployed there from its base in India in 1942.
Arthur died on Friday 10 August 1945 aged 25, just 5 days prior to VJ Day. He is buried within Madras War Cemetery, Chennai, India.
