Harry was educated at Wrekin College, Shropshire, the son of Mr & Mrs Henry Gerrard. He served with the Home Guard and was killed at 72 Hurtswood Road, London, on Tuesday 18th March 1941 when the house was hit by high explosive ordnance dropped by enemy aircraft. His body was recovered from the rubble the following day and was subsequently buried in Hendon Cemetery, London.
