Donald was born in Levenshulme, Manchester in 1886. He had 2 brothers, Stanley and Abraham and a sister, Mabel.
Donald was a Clerk in a Trade Warehouse when he married Mary Elizabeth Thomson in 1913 in Chorlton, Lancashire (address: 4, Harpurley Street, Manchester.)
He enlisted on the 2nd September 1914 in Manchester.
Donald died of his wounds at No. 21st Casualty Clearing Station, Corbie, Somme, France. He was 30 years old.
Donald is buried in Corbie Communal Cemetery, Somme, France.
