
Leslie was born in Stoke Damerel, Plymouth, Devon on the 19th July 1896. He had an older brother, George.
Leslie was educated at Garfield House, Devonport and Dunheved College, Launceston.
Leslie was studying in London for The Indian Civil Service in 1914 when war broke out. He joined The Inns of Court OTC in October 1915 and was gazetted Second Lieutenant to the Royal Garrison Artillery in March 1916. He was Promoted to Lieutenant in March 1918.
Whilst stationed near Villers Bretonneux the mess received a direct hit and Leslie was seriously wounded. Leslie died of these wounds on the 1st April 1918, aged 21.
Leslie is buried in Picquigny British Cemetery, Somme, France. Son of George Theodotus and Elizabeth Mitchinson Rolston, of Yelverton, Devon.
