Grave ref E. 790. Died January 8th 1945, aged 59.
Harold is listed as living at 72, The Crescent, Galgate in 1891, and the family had moved to 2, Brook street Lancaster in 1901. He was an Ironmongers assistant on enlistment.
Harold earned the Africa General Service medal with “Somaliland 1902-04” clasp whilst serving on HMS Hyacinth. He went on to receive the 1914-15 star trio as well.
Appointed RPO in 1920,he joined the Reserve in 1925.He was a caretaker living in Lancaster prior to his recall to service in 1938 for a few months and again in December 1939.
He died whilst returning to duty in London and his body was returned to Lancaster for burial.
