Private Edward Cyrus John Stratton, L/18904, 17th Lancers (Duke of Cambridge's Own)

Edward was born in 1902 to John a house painter and Mary Ann Stratton and in 1911 the family were living at 25 St Anns Villas, Royal Crescent, Notting Hill, he enlisted on 19th August 1919, previously employed as a tin smith.
Edward died from a gunshot wound inflicted accidently in barracks whilst preparing for a patrol. His parents were living at of 18, Talbot Rd., Bayswater, London, at the time of his death.
He was buried Ballincollig Military Cemetery, Ballincollig, County Cork, Ireland.
