He was born in 1887 in London, to Thomas William a piano repairer and Eliza Philadelphia Lloyd, of Long Eaton, he had an older sister and a younger brother, by 1901 his mother had passed away and the family are living at 85 Wollaton St, Nottingham.

Thomas enlisted in the 17th Lancers in Nottingham, and served in Scotland and India, as shown by the 1911 Census, on his discharge to the reserve, he married Elsie Elizabeth Hall in 1913.

On mobilisation he was attached to the 2nd Life Guards and he was killed in action on 18th October1914.

He is remembered on panel 5, Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial. 'Nottingham Evening Post,' 17th October 1917. “LLOYD. – In loving memory of Tom, killed in action, October 18th, 1914. At rest with the brave. – Loving sister Lil, and Arthur, Will (in France).”
