PRIVATE THOMAS HOWITT MASON Service Number: 93, Border Regiment, 4th Bn.

Died 19 June 1915. Age 46 years. Grave ref E. CE. 262.

Son of Thomas and Fanny Rachel Mason, of Lancaster; husband of Amelia Kate Mason, of 40, Lyndale Avenue, Golders Green, London.

Thomas was born in 1869 lived in Cable Street and attended the Grammar school. he seems to have lived in Australia and Tasmania as both children were born there around 1901.

In 1911, he lived in Aspatria in Cumberland and was a writer. He had a son and daughter.

Joining the 4th Border Regiment, he sadly shot himself in Liverpool whilst of unsound mind. His wife later moved to London.
