PRIVATE T ROBINSON Service Number: 20239 King's Own (Royal Lancaster Regiment) 5th Bn. Died 07 August 1918 Age 44 years old (not true!) F NC. 401. Husband of Mrs. S. A. Robinson, of 8, Bulk Rd., Lancaster.

Born in 1865 in Kendal, thomas was a farm labourer and wood sawyer and also an old Volunteer. married in 1885, he had 8 children recorded by 1911!

In March 1915 he joined the RDC attached to the 19th Rifle Brigade, he served in France from 30 December 1915 to may 1918, being transferred to the Labour Corps in mid november 1917.

In May 1918 he was admitted to Alexandria hospital whilst serving in Palestine. He was discharged in July 1918 and died in Netley Hospital Hampshire a few weeks later from throat Cancer.

Thomas was awarded a silver war badge as well as the war and victory medals.
