William Bullock was one of three brothers from Stokers Farm, Mattingley, near Rotherwick in Hampshire who died in WW1.

William was born in Dipley near Rotherwick in Hampshire in 1891. His parents were Henry and Emily Bullock. They have five children, Charles, Daniel, William, Frederick, Mary and Emily - William, Daniel and Frederick died in WW1.

In 1911 the family were living at Stokers Farm in Mattingley, apart from William and his brother Daniel who had already joined the army. William joined the Hampshire Regiment between 1906 and 1907 and was sent to France in August 1914.

He was captured and taken prisoner - held in Sennelager camp. During his time as a POW he caught TB and died on the 3rd November 1917. William is remembered on the war memorial in Rotherwick Church alongside his two brothers.
