Serjeant Frank Leopold Cadd 9908, 3rd Bn King's Own

Died 23 October 1918, aged 29. Grave ref K CE.45

Born in Oxford Frank enlisted in 1908. He was wounded in the spine in action on 25 March 1916. As the wound severed his spinal cord he was totally paralysed and was invalided from the Army. He died of his wounds a couple of years later at the Star and Garter Home in Surrey.

Frank had married in 1913. The family lived at Adelphi street which backs onto Bowerham Barracks. He was awarded the 1914-15 star trio and a Silver War Badge. The 1921 census shows Nora, his widow, and their 2 children living with her mother at a hotel near Morecambe.
