George was born in about 1888 in Charlton, Dover, Kent and he enlisted into the 21st Lancers in 1909.
He re-joined the 21st Lancers in 1915 and disembarked in France on 15th June 1916 to join No. 1 Service Squadron in the field. As a A/Cpl he was later promoted to Sgt and he was wounded by shell fire and returned to England for treatment.
He died from a cerebral haemorrhage in 4th London General Hospital, on 6th January 1918 leaving a widow Mary and four children and he was buried in the Grangegorman Military Cemetery, Dublin RC. 548.
